What is Self-publishing Assistance?
Self-publishing assistance is your gateway to transforming your manuscript into a published book. At ScrivSpa, we provide expert guidance through every step of the self-publishing journey. From editing and design to distribution and marketing, our services are tailored to empower authors to take control of their publishing dreams. Whether you are a first-time writer or a seasoned author, our dedicated team is here to support you in navigating the complexities of self-publishing, ensuring your unique voice is heard and celebrated.
How is Self-publishing Assistance different from a vanity press?
Unlike vanity presses that often prioritize profit over author success, by using ScrivSpa’s services, you pay us a fee to do the “grunt” work, but you retain all the royalties. Some vanity presses retain a portion of future royalties and require authors to purchase books from the company or invest in expensive (and often ineffective) marketing packages. At ScrivSpa, you are in complete control of which services you choose. You will order your books directly from the distributors (Amazon KDP and IngramSpark), at wholesale pricing–not from us.
Who will own the publishing rights and copyright?
The author retains all publishing rights, and the copyright will be listed in the author’s name (on the copyright page) within the published book. You may optionally choose to register the copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office.
What type of training is included?
At ScrivSpa, we provide video-based training on how to set up and use the Amazon KDP and IngramSpark dashboards. If your package includes an author website, you will have access to video training on how to use the website. We also offer one-on-one writing coaching as an optional add-on service.
Are there any additional fees once the project is completed?
There are no additional fees for the publishing packages unless you choose the Diamond Package, which includes an author website. We charge an annual hosting/maintenance fee. The services included in that package, as well as the pricing, are listed on our website.
What additional services are available?
Besides the publishing packages, you may also choose from several add-on options. See the “A La Carte” services for details.
What are the costs involved?
Each package has the price listed as well as which services are included. There are no hidden fees or surprises. You may also choose a la carte services, if that better suits your needs.
What type of follow-up support do you provide?
You will receive access to the training videos, which can be watched as often and as frequently as needed. We also have a support desk. If you have an issue that isn’t covered in the video training, please submit a ticket to lindashelpdesk.com, and we will do our best to help you resolve it!
How long does it take to get a book published with ScrivSPA?
The estimated timeframe for project completion is listed in the details for each package.
What are the payment terms?
A deposit is due when a package is purchased. You will be assigned a project manager and receive a publishing agreement within two business days of purchase. The balance will be due upon completion of the project. The fees and deposit amount are listed on the pricing modules for each package.
What is your refund policy?
The project agreement may be terminated by either party within 30 days of signing. At that point, the author may request a refund for a portion of the deposit. That portion will be calculated according to how much work on the project has been completed at the time of the termination request. If a client requests termination within the 30-day period, all work done to that point will be submitted to the client. If an author requests to terminate the project, an accounting of where the project is at that point will be submitted, so the client will know what they will be receiving and what percentage of their deposit will be returned.
